Who We Are
The Association of Ethiopian Family Medicine Specialists (AEFMS) was established to unify, represent, and support family medicine specialists across Ethiopia. It is dedicated to advancing the field of family medicine and supporting the physicians who serve as the backbone of community healthcare. We work to advance the specialty through collaboration, education, and policy advocacy. We are committed to promoting comprehensive, continuous, and compassionate care, enhancing healthcare delivery, and improving health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Our Story
Founded on the principle that family medicine is the cornerstone of a healthy society, our association began with a shared vision among a small group of physicians. They saw the need for a unified voice—one that could advocate for the profession, support its practitioners, and champion the well-being of the communities they serve.
Our mission is straightforward: to empower family physicians and advance the art and science of family medicine. We believe that by providing our members with the resources, advocacy, and community they need, we can collectively enhance patient care and build a healthier future for all.
